Autoimmune Disease

“I believe streets of gold are worth the work,

but I still wanna go even if they were paved in dirt.”

I’m not sure exactly how long today marks that my blog has been “under construction”, I’m sure some have noticed. It’s hard not to in some pages you click on; even the drop down menu is in a weird order!

To be honest, I just wanted to drop by and let you all know why, from your side, it doesn’t look like much progress has been made…

Same ole story, different post, I guess. There are some conclusions/ decisions that are left in the air around me right now, and I guess my coping mechanism is to sleep. So that’s what I’ve been doing.

When you sleep, you don’t feel the pain.

There is never anything missing,

An empty feeling,

A lost finish line,

A bigger clock than appeared at first.

It just makes everything so much easier.

This all may sound so random compared to the title of this post, but let me dive a bit deeper.

Everyone in this life is going through someone huge. Maybe that something huge isn’t “huge” to others, but regardless, it takes its toll on the person who is dealing and trying to find a way to cope.

Monday is 1 year from losing my Mimi. Things have been piled on top, but I don’t ever write a post and expect to be the only one who understands this “lost”, “weighted”, “overwhelmed” feeling.

Sometimes friends come and go. I have learned, however, that you just don’t burn bridges without the confirmation from the Big Guy Upstairs.

Let me tell you what my DD told me one day:

  • Don’t ever repeat a conversation to someone who wasn’t in the conversation with you.
  • You just love. And you mean it.

“Most People Are Good”

“I believe kids oughta stay kids as long as they can
Turn off the screen, go climb a tree, get dirt on their hands
I believe we gotta forgive and make amends
Cause nobody gets a second chance to make new old friends
I believe in working hard for what you’ve got
Even if it don’t add up to a hell of a lot

I believe most people are good
And most Mama’s oughta qualify for sainthood
I believe most Friday nights look better underneath neon stadium lights
I believe you love who you love
Ain’t nothing you should ever be ashamed of
I believe this world ain’t half as bad as it looks
I believe most people are good

I believe streets of gold are worth the work
But I still wanna go even if they were paved in dirt
I believe that youth is spent well on the young
Cause wisdom in your teens would be a lot less fun
I believe if you just go by the nightly news
Your faith in all mankind would be the first thing you lose

I believe most people are good
And most Mama’s oughta qualify for sainthood
I believe most Friday nights look better underneath neon stadium lights
I believe you love who you love
Ain’t nothing you should ever be ashamed of
I believe this world ain’t half as bad as it looks
I believe most people are good

I believe that days go slow and years go fast
And every breath’s a gift, the first one to the last

I believe most people are good
And most Mama’s oughta qualify for sainthood
I believe most Friday nights look better underneath neon stadium lights
I believe you love who you love
Ain’t nothing you should ever be ashamed of
I believe this world ain’t half as bad as it looks
I believe most people are good”
