Medication Shaming

When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I was relieved to finally have an answer and name to what was causing my body to viciously stab, burn, electrocute, punch, overheat, get random fevers, require a seating in social circumstances, pass out from fatigue even though I just woke up, become randomly nauseous and repulsed by food – yet still gain weight……etc. Little did I know, I was just starting the mess of doctors and pills.This point in this article had me baffled. This post describes EXACTLY how I feel when I’m told “that’s just too much medication.. do you know what that does to your body?” My answer: “Um. Actually yes. I would literally die without it. There would not be much sense in living, and I would not be able to handle the pain – the pain that causes panic attacks, depression, anger, & irritability. Yes I do know what it does to my body, but thank you for pretending as if you do.”Got to let it go. Had to for a second. I hope this can be an eye opening post for those without fibromyalgia, to maybe even some who have said those bitter words.From: 7 Difficult Truths About Fibromyalgia 👈🏼Click Link to see the other 6 listed. 🦋💜 I hope you can read this and realize that we DO know, but do YOU know that I have carefully weighed my options, which without medication – doesn’t leave much.✌🏼&💜,Bailey;

  1. Everyone has an opinion on the matter, but never will put themselves in the other person shoes. How they feel if they had to deal with the pains and burning sensations? Everyone’s a critic. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about taking meds, especially if they don’t know what you’re going through.

    1. You’re so kind. Thank you. You wouldn’t believe the pharmacies that question you because of a medication you have to pick up. I was so thankful to switch to mail order, but now, if there’s ever an issue, I have to call. And that honestly is worse than just going to pick up a medication. This world is a mess. Some people ruin things for everyone. And the everyone that things are ruined for just may be the people who are affected the most. 🤦🏻‍♀️
