The Home Down Benadryl Lane

“Dirty Old Town”- Craig Cardiff

Dirty old town, dirty old town,

They’ve got all your little problems clearly written down.

You don’t even know, don’t even see

Oh, the butterfly that you’re going to be,

Oh, the butterfly that you are becoming.

All the road, all the miles,

Hair goes grey, eyes stay wide.

Come to bed, turn off the lights

Fall asleep inside..

You’re the one,

You’re the one.

Hearts grow into hearts until hearts become one.

You’re the one, you’re the one.

I carry your heart in my heart –

Sung with every song.

Poised with grace in this poisoned place.

How you ever manage to keep it off your face?

You don’t even know, can’t even see

Oh, the butterfly that you’re going to be,

Oh, the butterfly you are becoming.

Craig Cardiff- “Dirty Old Town” (listen here now!)

You will always be “becoming” something. Open your wings, butterfly, and show your beauty to the world. Do not hold back your heart because it’s been burned, for I’ve made that mistake and missed out on many irreplaceable moments. I need this medication daily. Regularly. This does not show my pain meds, my muscle relaxer, or my Tylenol that I try to replace my pain med with when possible. This does not show my sinus rinse, my special lotion that follows me the entire day and sits beside me at night. This does not show my chapstick or 24oz water that I also tag along side of me, or the toothbrush and toothpaste that I always keep handy after I eat.

I myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intention.”

Maybe this is the moment for which you have been created.

Everybody smiles in the same language. You never know who so desperately needs a smile.

My family is having it rough. I know my family is not the only one. There are so many things going on in this world, tragedies, illnesses, and saddened moments, things I could never think to list. If I can bring [you] some strength, I will feel like more than enough for the first time in my life.

Thank you for showing me my purpose. Giving Positivity and Strength to others.
